Father's Day Weekend Frenzy

Boston decided to sing us some songs in the car after church - he's pretty good at carrying a tune :)

The kiddos also got a chance to play at the park - Boston usually wants someone to go down the slide with him, but lately he's being a "big boy" and doing it by himself with no fear

Even some yard work got done over the weekend... we've got the best little helpers for those types of projects! Boston decided to help Daddy mow the lawn.

The kiddos love playing with bubbles - it's funny to watch them chase the bubbles floating in the air, even funnier when they try to blow on the wand and when Brooklyn tries to eat the soap!

Every good day must come to an end... this is Brooklyn's "I'm tired" fit :)

What's Up Doc!?

Boston and Brooklyn got a fun little doctor's kit that they absolutely love playing with. It has instruments to check the ears and eyes, listen to heartbeats, give medicine, and take blood pressure. They have a blast 'doctoring' each other, mom & dad, and even our dog Bruin.

Funny conversation between Boston & Chris...

C - "Boston you are a handsome doctor"

B - "Uh huh"

C - Are you going to grow up to be McSteamy or McDreamy?" (from greys anatomy)

B - "Um... old McDonald!!"

Hoppers... deer... & bears - Oh My!

Boston has been begging to go camping lately and sleep outside, so we decided to go camping the other night after work- we didn't tell Boston or Brooklyn that we were going until we picked them up from daycare, needless to say it was a welcomed surprise!

Boston was so excited to look out the window and search for deer, hoppers (rabbits) and any other animals that you might see camping. We went up to Happy Jack and we were afraid that we wouldn't find a good spot since we didn't get out of town as quickly as we had hoped- but we were lucky to find a perfect flat section away from the road and hidden by hills, trees, and even a waterfall nearby.

The kids were so excited to be outdoors! Right when we pulled up and got the kids out of the car, rabbits were hopping all over the campsite, so they thought it was a pretty cool place to be. Boston wanted to be a "big boy" and help us with stuff like setting up the tent, cooking dinner, and chasing down Brooklyn. Whereas Brooklyn was our little explorer and was so excited to be in an area where she could run around free and get as dirty as possible!

We hiked up a short trail that went alongside a river by our campsite which led to a small waterfall. The kids enjoyed being close to the water and throwing rocks in it to make the 'plop' splashing noise.

The kiddos had such a fun time being outdoors, collecting firewood for the fire, climbing on rocks, playing in the water, and sleeping in a tent under the moon and stars. They're definitely looking forward to making more 'camping' memories!

Lately...

There hasn't been too much excitement for us lately, so although I don't have much to write about I thought I'd still share some pics of the kiddos :)

Brooklyn wearing her "Princess" crown and carrying around her magic wand, or her pretend phone, or her singing microphone- whatever role the comb takes on for the moment!

Brooklyn's face after I trade her crown for some fruit loops- she might seem devastated, but she really likes those fruit loops too- it's kind of a hard choice for her sometimes. I think she's more upset that I'm making her choose one or the other and not just giving her what she wants... both!

Boston has really been into coloring lately - the downside... we're going through crayons like they were candy- the upside... coloring helps him wind down right before naps, so even candy can't keep him awake :)

Sweet dreams!

Memorial Day Madness!

Memorial Day was a good long weekend that we were all ready for - it sure did make this past week seem extra long, although it was only four days :)

The kiddos went to the park with their cousin, Alex, which was great since they don't get to play together very often with our busy schedules. The boys rode in the Burley bike trailer together and Brooklyn relaxed in the stroller. They played all over the playground toys and had a picnic lunch afterwards. The boys were able to release a lot of their couped-up energy, and Brooklyn tried to be so independent and climb on everything without help! It was nice to enjoy the sunshine, but Brooklyn soaked up a little too much of it and came away with a little sunburn on her cheeks :( In all, the day was a fun one!
